The Wisconsin FFA Foundation has selected 21 FFA members to be the recipients of $500- and $1,000-grants to further their Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) program grants. The funds, which total $19,000, were contributed by seven Wisconsin agribusinesses as a special project through the Wisconsin FFA Foundation.
SAE programs apply the concepts learned in the agricultural education classroom and the career skills developed through FFA membership to individual experiential learning projects. Programs are classified as placement or entrepreneurship and span a broad range of agricultural careers and businesses.
The grants were awarded in three different SAE categories: aquaculture, organic agriculture and dairy.
Lauren Metcalf of the Milton FFA was selected to receive a $500 Aquaculture SAE Grant, sponsored by the Wisconsin Aquaculture Association.
Anthony Altmann of the Auburndale FFA was selected to receive a $1,000 Organic Agriculture SAE Grant, sponsored by Organic Valley/Organic Pride.
Dairy SAE Grants of $500 and $1,000 values were distributed to 19 Wisconsin FFA members. These grants were sponsored by Saputo, Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board, Foremost Farms USA, We Energies-Agriculture Services Program, and NASCO.
The Wisconsin FFA Foundation supports the states agricultural education programs by developing partnerships with individual and corporate sponsors. Learn more by visiting Wi FFA.
